Japanese patent 4,723,171, issued April 15, 2011, relates to a method of comparing hashes derived from media signals in a non-exact fashion. This technology is utilized to reliably detect even harshly distorted or otherwise altered media content.

MULTIPLE STEP IDENTIFICATION OF RECORDINGS

KR Patent 10-0961461 issued May 27, 2010 relates to a method of identifying recordings using both textual information and one or more acoustic fingerprints extracted from the unknown recording in conjunction with each other in order to accomplish an identification.

AUTOMATIC IDENTIFICATION OF SOUND RECORDINGS

EP patent 1410380, UK patent 1410380, French patent 1410380, and German patent 1410380 issued April 28, 2010, relates to a method for identifying digital recordings from unidentified recordings by extracting one or more fingerprints from an unidentified recording and searching a reference database for candidate matches.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR THE EXTRACTION OF A MELODY ON WHICH AN AUDIO SIGNAL IS BASED

EP patent 1797552, French patent 1797552, UK patent 1797552, and German patent 1797552, issued April 21, 2010 relate to a method for extracting a melody from an audio signal using frequency dependent scaling of amplitudes in a time/spectral representation of the signal.

JP patent 4,477,028, issued March 19, 2010, relates to a method for associating a recording with recognition data, such as title of recording, artist, album and genre, obtained from the network using fuzzy matching techniques.

NETWORK DELIVERY OF INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT SYNCHRONIZED TO PLAYBACK OF AUDIO RECORDINGS

EP Patent 1324567, UK patent 1324567, French patent 1324567 and German patent 69841450 issued January 13, 2010, relates to a method for associating remote data with local data characterized by obtaining an identifier from the local data and automatically obtaining from the network an address corresponding to said identifier.
