Japanese mobile handset manufacturer, KDDI, Inc., uses Gracenote Discover™ together with Gracenote Mobile MusicID™ to work with KDDI’s LISMO Music Search service. Discover combines editorial expertise with audio attributes such as tempo, mood and instrumentation, as well as community-based preferences. The combination of these features creates helpful music recommendations sent to your mobile device with the greatest possible ease.

Using Gracenote Mobile MusicID™, you can record a few seconds of a song, either using the microphone or built-in FM radio, and then send the clip to Gracenote’s music database. Gracenote will identify the track and send information about the song back to the phone. Once you have the information about a song you like, you’re free to download it from your favorite music service
